He officially joined the station on Monday and went on air on tuesday, 16 April presenting a show called ‘Think for yourself’ between 12h00 and 15h00
from Monday to Friday. He joined the station together with Sasi Bvuma, a former
News Reader at Sekgosese FM.
“I have now found a new home in Vision FM
and my move from Sekgosese FM symbolizes progress in my life”, said Mokgobi who
is known to his listeners as Tlou ya Bolobedu.
Last week Friday, 12 April was his last day
at Sekgosese FM however he did not notify the listeners of his departure from
the station.
“I did not get the chance to say goodbye to
Sekgosese FM listeners on air therefore I would like to take this opportunity
to thank all the listeners for the support they have given since 2014. I am
also grateful to Sekgosese FM management for the opportunity they have given
me.
His breakthrough into radio industry was in
2014 at Sekgosese FM when he joined the station as a radio drama actor and
later absorbed as a presenter.
“It was in December 2014 on Sunday when I
received a call from the Programmes Manager asking me to stand in for a
presenter who was absent from duty then from there I was absorbed as the
presenter”, added Mokgobi.
During his era at Sekgosese FM he had won
several awards including best presentable presenter, programme scheduler,
content producer and male presenter.
“My role models in the radio industry are
Happiness Maake from Thobela FM and Joey Wa Rabapane who is the former News
Editor and Executive Producer respectively at Sekgosese FM and Vision FM”, he
told Sekgosese Insider.
Mokgobi’s goal is to work for a national
radio station in the near future.
